Woh Hup has been registered with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) as a G8 contractor under both the Building and Civil Engineering categories since these were introduced in 1987. This enables us to tender for contracts of unlimited value. We will always strive to satisfy all new requirements imposed/proposed by the BCA to ensure that we maintain our status in the highest echelon of the construction industry.
In 1994, Woh Hup was the first local company to be awarded the BCA ISO 9002 by the Singapore Building and Construction Authority. In line with changing ISO standards, we have successfully upgraded the accreditation to the latest BCA ISO 9001 2000 standards with design management - one of the first local companies to be thus certified.
In addition, Woh Hup was one of the first construction companies to be certified OHSAS 18001 by the Building and Construction Authority. This accreditation was bestowed upon the company in 2000 for our Safety Management System, as we remain committed to improving and maintaining high safety standards in our operations.
In recognition of our high standards and design expertise, we were awarded 23 Construction Excellence Awards by the Building and Construction Authority to date and the Best Buildable Design Awards in 1991 and 1999 (2 awards). For our high safety standards, we were presented with the Safety Performance Awards by the Ministry of Manpower for 12 consecutive years since 1996.
Woh Hup owes much its success to its people and the high value it places on staff development. To keep ahead, the company is committed to enhancing its human resources through training. In 2006, Woh Hup was certified People Developer (PD) by SPRING Singapore, as a testament to the structured training programme that it pursues. The Company is looking forward to be recertified in early 2010. We will continue to strive to add to this impressive record of awards.
