Community Involvement
Woh Hup has always valued higher education. In 1977, we established the Woh Hup Bursary at the National University of Singapore (NUS). In 2007, we set up the Woh Hup Scholarship with NUS. Together, these have benefited 58 students to date.

Woh Hup firmly believes it has a social, cultural and environmental responsibility to the community. We put this into practice at corporate level through scholarships and support for many charitable organisations, as well as at the work site through our commitment to green practices and processes.
Scholarships & Bursaries:
Woh Hup has always valued higher education and we endeavour to seek out and help budding talents by giving out numerous scholarships and bursaries throughout the years.
In 1977, we established the Woh Hup Bursary at the National University of Singapore (NUS), helping students to be more financially able to pursue programmes that were previously out of reach, benefitting 54 students to date.
In 2007, we set up the Woh Hup Scholarship with NUS for students from the School of Design and Environment, enabling them to further their education and subsequently developed a career in the construction industry.
In 2011, Woh Hup further extended its support by introducing a Woh Hup Endowed Scholarship with NUS - School of Design and Environment and NTU - School of Civil Engineering. The organisation also work closely with BCA to support the BCA scholarship scheme since it was introduced in 1993, sponsoring a total of 15 scholars to date.
Charities:
In Woh Hup, we believe everyone plays an important role in giving back to the society. We were contracted by National Kidney Foundation (NKF) to help build a dialysis centre in Ghim Moh for $1. With the support of our subcontractors, the Woh Hup NKF Dialysis Centre is opened in mid-2011.
Woh Hup’s employees are actively involved in charity programmes as volunteers for Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) events, while our Director Mr. Eugene Yong, held the position of honorary chairman of the association since 1996.
Woh Hup also provides several opportunities for employees to engage in overseas charity works as part of the organisation’s teambuilding activities each year.
Green & Gracious:
Inculcating environmental, health and safety responsibility is integral to our organisation. Woh Hup is a proud recipient of the BCA Green & Gracious Builder Star Award, the highest tier for this category, awarded to builders who put in the greatest contributions to environmental sustainability and protection, and are socially responsible to the environment and general public.
Our companywide ‘GreenPrint’ initiative also provides a blueprint for building an environmentally conscious culture. This initiative includes three main areas:
- Setting measurable performance objectives in line with the BCA Green and Gracious Builder guide to promote sustainable environmental protection and gracious practices
- Minimising pollution, resource waste, and healthy and safety hazards
- Communicating our environmental policies to all employees, subcontractors and suppliers to promote a shared green commitment
